MICHAEL S. REGAN
Nominated by President Joe Biden
Michael Regan is an EPA veteran with a proven track record on tackling the climate crisis and environmental justice. Since 2017, Regan has served as Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality where he’s led clean-up of dangerous PFAS and toxic coal ash sites, forged bipartisan climate action, and furthered environmental justice efforts. As the next Administrator of the EPA, Regan will have a pivotal role implementing President-elect Joe Biden’s ambitious climate policy, bringing environmental justice to the agency’s forefront and working from Day One to refocus the EPA on science based policy making and holding polluters accountable. Regan’s expertise and proven successes in cleaning up some of North Carolina’s biggest environmental messes make him an excellent choice to lead the EPA and restore it to its mission of protecting public health and the environment.
