The Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation manages the agency’s development of programs, technical policies and safeguards for air and radiation pollution control, and oversees the agency’s programs to address the climate crisis, including establishing standards to reduce greenhouse gases.
The Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) is also responsible for administering the Clean Air Act, the Atomic Energy Act, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Land Withdrawal Act, and other applicable environmental laws.
