NATIONAL CLIMATE ADVISER
Selected by President Joe Biden
As a former EPA Administrator for President Obama and president and CEO of the Natural Resources Defense Council, Gina McCarthy brings leadership and expertise to the position of National Climate Adviser at the White House. McCarthy will ensure that Biden’s entire administration works in concert to address climate change and enact the President-elect’s ambitious environmental policy. McCarthy was a key author of the Clean Power Plan, and in her new position she will work to facilitate major investments in clean energy infrastructure that improve public health and environmental quality for all Americans,, including the impacted communities that have borne the brunt of dangerous pollution for decades.
