Dr. Rick Spinrad, President Biden’s nominee to lead the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is a proven veteran within the agency who will play a vital role in leading our nation’s climate science research. Previously, Dr. Spinrad led NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research and the National Ocean Service. He co-led the White House Committee developing the nation’s first set of ocean research priorities and has also held several positions within the Navy. 

 

As NOAA Administrator, he will work to restore confidence in the agency’s scientific integrity while protecting our nation’s coasts, oceans and fisheries.
